I simply wanted to capture the look and feel of the dress Arwen wore in the film. Dress is made from a soft suede fabric with hand embroidery details. Matte satin white sleeves cascade to the floor. The gown consists of a full velvet dress and then an under dress that features the velvet sleeves and bead work. The following dress was one that I designed for myself to wear at Comic Cons and Renaissance Festivals. My favorite cosplays to wear for myself are elf looks. However, the full draped sleeves and dramatic train that trailed on the ground is not the most practical at events.
Upper sleeves are beaded and feature a sheer overlay of silk chiffon. Both the under dress and over dress are trimmed with a deluxe bridal trim that is hand beaded with crystal beads. So the dress here is ankle length with a subtle high low hemline. The sleeves are slit to above the elbow to allow for movement. Bust features a ruched effect for a unique look. The beaded silver trim was carefully hand sewn around the neckline to achieve the shape. Lots of beads were added to the bodice and sleeve details. This wonderful elf dress is made of the saturated turquoise color stretch velvet. Due to elasticity of the selected fabric the dress does not have fasteners, but miraculously fits the figure. The corset is made of artificial leather, so the size can be adjusted easily. The dress and corset are decorated with the woven braid with floral pattern.
